Jax Dog Drop Riverdog is proud to offer a 3-week customized Training Camp program as well as a multitude of obedience and specialty classes designed to provide you with all of the resources needed to raise a loving, polite, and well-behaved member of your family. Our coaching methods are creative and very effective. In fact, most students will pass the AKC STAR Puppy and AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluations on their first attempt.

Training Camp

Training Camp is our specialty program that is highly customized to meet your dog’s specific training needs. It is comprised of Initial Training, Maintenance Training, and Post-Graduate Support.

Initial Training

For initial training, you will drop your dog off Monday through Friday, like dropping off your child at school. The initial training consists of 3 weeks of multiple 25-minute training sessions throughout each day targeting your specific goals, as well as social interactions so they get to play with other dogs while supervised. We work your dog inside our large classroom, outside around distractions, and also take them on field trips to proof all their training.

Maintenance Training

After graduating, your dog will be eligible to maintain consistent practice by signing up for what we call “Refresher Days.” Refresher Days are similar to one full day of training camp. They are designed to provide help on any training that might still need some additional work, or to just keep your dog committed when life gets a bit too hectic to work on it at home.

Post Graduate Support aka Lifetime Coaching

We are only successful if you and your dog are successful together. Our Lifetime Coaching sessions are designed to help you with any additional difficulties or questions you may have after you have completed Training Camp. They are set up like a 1-hour private lesson to work on anything that may need some extra attention, at no charge. Owners receive 6 free Lifetime Coaching sessions per calendar year, for the life of your dog after completing Training Camp.

Classes

Basic Obedience

Basic Obedience classes are for any owner who want to learn the fundamentals of training a dog from the bottom up. Most owners have it about ‘half right’ - a positive relationship and have been working on raising a sweet friendly furry family member. But typically, the ‘other half’ is missing - that's where we come in. We work on teaching over 20 different commands to help you build a better and stronger bond with your dog.

Classes Offered Include:

  • Puppy Obedience 101 - For puppies aged 2-4 months

  • Basic Obedience 101 - For dogs aged 5+ months

  • Ultimate Puppy - For shy, high-energy, or skittish puppies aged 3-12 months

  • Surviving a Teenage Dog - For adolescent dogs aged 5+ months

Advanced Obedience

Advanced Obedience classes are for any owner who believes there is more to training than just the basics and wish to take their knowledge and dog handling skills to the next level. Most classes require a Basic Obedience class prerequisite unless otherwise approved by a trainer.

Classes Offered Include:

  • AKC STAR Puppy 102 - For puppies aged 5-9 months who want to earn their STAR Puppy medal

  • Beyond Basic Obedience 102 - For dogs aged 7+ months who have completed a 101 class

  • AKC Canine Good Citizen Prep - For dogs aged 7+ months who wish to take the AKC CGC exam

Specialty Courses

Specialty classes are for any owner who wants to expand beyond obedience, compete in dog sports, hone specific skills off-leash, learn to manage difficult dogs, and/or strengthen their bond with their dog. Some classes may require prerequisites.

Classes Offered Include:

  • Agility 101/102/103 - For dogs aged 5+ months who want to practice the fastest growing dog sport in the world

  • Advanced Obedience 103 - For dogs aged 7+ months who have completed any of our Obedience 102 classes and want the opportunity to test for the Canine Good Citizen test
